Our Hiring Process
- Stage 1
Application Prompts
We will score whether your responses to the prompts indicate:
- alignment with our mission
- ability to perform research tasks that are common for the role
- experience with engaging stakeholders who do not have a research background
- 7+ years of relevant research experience
- Stage 2
Work samples
- You will submit an article you have written, which we will use to assess your skill in communicating complex ideas clearly.
- You will submit a data file from a past project, which we will use to assess your ability to (a) to build useful models of empirical phenomena and (b) clearly document your work.
- Stage 3
Skills assessment
- You will complete a 5-hour task that mimics projects that are common for the role.
- You will be paid $225 USD ($45 per hour) for completing this assessment
- Stage 4
Interviews
- We will ask you questions that are relevant to a variety of the skills and experiences required for the role.
- Most of these questions will be sent in advance. In a few cases, we will tell you about the topic in advance, but not the specific question.
- You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the role, the Animal Welfare department, and RP more broadly.
- Stage 5
Reference checks
- We will ask two references about your job experiences.
